We offer guided zander fishing tours and fishing vacations in cottages at some of Sweden’s best zander (pikeperch) fishing lakes. Fishing methods vary between dropshot, trolling, vertical and our specialty pelagic vertical jigging.
Big zander fishing in Sweden can be done all year round. The period from mid May to end June tends to be easier when your goal is catching many zander (pikeperch). If you are looking to catch one of the biggest specimens the chances are best in the fall, from October onwards after the zander (pikeperch) has been feeding all summer. From then on they keep gaining weight throughout the entire ice fishing season, as well as March and April, before loosing weight while spawning. Pelagic Vertical Jigging – Zander Fishing in Sweden
When pelagic vertical jigging we actively locate big individual zander (pikeperch) in free water with the help of modern sonar technology. We then directly target a specific fish by presenting various softbaits, for example a Westin Fishing Twin Teez. All interaction between the fish and the lure is followed in real time on the sonar screen, even the strike! This might sound simple, but it’s quite the opposite. It’s a very challenging but also very intimate method, that provides unique insights into the behavior of the targeted fish. In our opinion, this is the most exiting zander fishing method out there today and we are proud to be one of the few companies that can offer training in this very specialized and exciting method! If you are interested in learning pelagic vertical jigging from a pro you should book one of our Guided Fishing Tours. You will find 2 detailed articles about pelagic vertical jigging for zander written in German for download on our Press & Media Page.

Lures: Big non action soft lures, 8-10 inch for example Westin Fishing Twin Teez or Westin Fishing Slim Teez with stinger treble mounted on a 25- 35 gr jighead.
Leader: Between the lure and the main line we suggest to use a 1,0m long 0,50 mm fluorocarbon leader.
Line: 0,13-0,15 braided line in a high visible fluorescent color. The color of the line is important to detect if the boat is drifting.
Rod: In order to move the lure and to set the large hooks in the hard jaws of a big zander (pikeperch), a rod with a sufficient back bone is an absolute must. Standard vertical rods < 28gr are too weak for this. We use the Westin W8 Vertical Jigging-T 6’4″ XH 28-52 gr made for this style of fishing.
Reel: For letting down your lure in a controlled way a small baitcaster reel is the best choice, a spinning reel is not an option! Any small baitcaster you prefer will do the job, we mainly use the Quantum tour MG.
